Fasten your seatbelts! This month we have a rare transit of Venus on the Sun on June 5 and 6, we have a Lunar Eclipse on June 4 and the first of 7 long awaited squares of Uranus and Pluto.
We will all be feeling this turmoil, but mostly Geminis, Sagittarians and those of us with personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) or the Ascendant at 6 to 15 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn and Cancer. Also those born between 1962 and 1969 during the Uranus/Pluto Conjunction. These are the people who will catch on fire with the energy of the Uranus/Pluto square. It would be interesting to do a survey to find out how many of that generation is involved with the Occupiers.
Neptune turns retrograde on Jun 4. Saturn turns direct on the 25th of June. Venus turns direct on June 27. But these are a piece of cake compared to the previous items.
Dates to Watch:
June 1 – Mercury Conjunct Venus. All you want to talk about is love and money. OK, are you under loved or underpaid, probably both, but do you have to tell us all? Should we alert the media?
June 3 – Mercury Trine Saturn. Now is the time to make long range plans especially about your career. Does anyone really have careers anymore?
June 4 – A Lunar Eclipse at 14 Sagittarius/Gemini. This eclipse is conjunct Venus and Square to Mars. This is all about give and take in relationships. Are you a demure little roll-over-and-play-dead little girl or a milk toast kinda guy or are you aggressive. You may not know which way to go during this eclipse especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 11 to 17 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius and Virgo. For more on the May and June eclipses, see my blog. For all Lunar Eclipses it is best to let go of old dreams before we pursue new ones. Education and travel could be interrupted. An eclipse in Gemini leads us to question everything and Sagittarius can give us a new spiritual direction.
Neptune Retrograde at 3 Pisces until Nov 11, 2012. We can revive our meditation practice and realize that all spiritual inspiration comes from within. A time to look inward to see what needs to be healed.
June 5 and 6 – Venus exact transit of the Sun. This alignment only happens 4 times every 243 years. In North America we will be able to see at least a portion of it on the early evening of June 5 at 6:04 PM to 6:21 PM. We will see Venus as a black dot crossing over the Sun. Be sure to take precautions when viewing the Sun, check The Sky and Telescope site. I consider Venus the planet of values, maybe this aspect will wake us up to what is really valuable in our lives.
The ancients worshipped Venus in her dual aspect. Venus now is an Evening Star known as Vesper, ruling gentle wisdom. Once she crosses the Sun she becomes the Morning Star on June 13. As the morning star she was known as the Warrior. You can see what type of Venus you have by looking at your chart to see if your Venus placement is before or after the Sun. Jun 7 – Mercury enters Cancer until June 25. Mercury doesn’t like being in a water sign because he is going to have to start talking about his feelings, ugh! Sometimes we just clam up during this period. We feel safer that way.
Sun Square Mars at 17 Gemini/Virgo. Temper, temper. Put your angry energy into working out at the gym.
Jun 8 – Mercury Trine Neptune. Our minds are on the finer things in life. Visit a museum
Jun 11 – Jupiter enters Gemini until Jun 27, 2013. The planet of excess and expansion will be in Gemini for one year. In Gemini, Jupiter expands the mind and increases our options for the future. Gemini gathers too much data and during this year, we may get buried in information. Go on a media fast. On the bright side it can bring abundance into your life especially if you have planets or the ascendant in Gemini. But, on the other hand, abundance can be overweight. So watch your diet.
Mercury Square Uranus opposite Pluto. The Uranus Pluto square is exact on Jun 24 and having Mercury involved in this square today makes us scared stiff of that square. That is all we seem to be thinking and talking about. Our nerves could become over stimulated. Also, we may start to look at life from a different perspective.
Jun 13 – Sun Trine Saturn. A day to get down to business and working with elders.
Jun 19 – New Moon at 28 Gemini. Set your intentions. This is the start for the coming month. Include learning new things this month, read, study, go to school.
Jun 20 – Mercury Square Saturn. Don’t find your self at logger heads with others. Practice love not war.
Sun enters Cancer until July 22nd. This is the beginning of summer. Cancer is a water sign ruled by the Moon. We may find ourselves a little moody at this time and withdrawn.
Jun 23 – Sun Trine Neptune. Your idealism is stimulated. You can imagine some pretty big schemes, make sure they are realistic.
June 24 – Uranus Square Pluto. This is the first of two Uranus square Pluto aspects in 2012, and the first of seven over the next few years.
These are outer planets that move slowly so these dates are not when we will experience this square, we will experience it throughout this period. When a client has a series of transits like this, I tell them to pay attention to the first one and that will give them an idea of how the following transits will affect them. The changes from these squares started when Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 and intensified when Uranus entered Aries in 2011. So we have seen some major changes in our world already. These two planets in these signs bring revolution, action, death and rebirth.
The square is waxing and waxing squares tend to create lasing change especially when they are in cardinal signs. The planet and humanity will not be same after these squares. How do we know? Well the last time Uranus was square Pluto was during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. And the beginning of this square was in the 1960’s when Uranus and Pluto were in a conjunction..
Jun 25 – Jupiter Square Neptune. Today we are optimistic, maybe there is an upswing in the stock market. Things look rosy, don’t believe it. This aspect is all about belief. Jupiter rules religion and Neptune rules spirituality. A good day to pray and meditate.
Saturn turns direct at 22 Libra. During the long retrograde period from Feb 7, 2012 our ambitions ran into a lot of snags. It was hard to get ahead or even to find a job. Now the momentum in those areas pick up. Look for opportunities.
Mercury enters Leo until September 12. Mercury stays in Leo extra long because he turns retrograde next month on July 15. Leo is a creative sign, you may be able to write or do other creative work during this time.
Jun 27 – Venus turns direct. Our social, romantic and love life picks up. Now you can make commitments, get married, whatever.
Jun 29 – Sun opposite Pluto at 8 Cancer/Capricorn. Some other person is trying to manipulate you. First recognize them and then avoid them, especially be alert if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Libra or Capricorn.
Sun Square Uranus at 8 Cancer/Aries. You could be restless and wired and make lots of mistakes today, stay calm. You feel especially crazy if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 Cancer, Aries, Capricorn or Libra.
